Agility pins Digit 5's onboard computing on NVIDIA's IGX Thor

2026-10-22 Robots

From the Robots digest for 2026-10-22

What happened: Agility Robotics has announced that Digit 5 will standardize on NVIDIA IGX Thor for its onboard computing, expanding the companies' collaboration as Agility prepares Digit 5 "for broader commercial deployment" (Business Insider Markets carrying the announcement, ~8:51 AM ET October 22; Agility's own account, ~7:00 AM ET).

What's genuinely new: Development of the Digit 5 product line — the announced-design layer following the Nyobolt battery partner record of October 15–16 (90 minutes of work per nine-minute charge, early access first half of 2027) and the AGCO Hesston pilot agreement of October 20 — and it extends the NVIDIA physical-AI platform lane opened in Berlin on October 21, where the Isaac platform expansion designated Agile Robots' Agile ONE SN a "Reference Humanoid." Agility is now anchoring its own robot to the same NVIDIA compute standard in advance of its listing, with the SPAC process dated for November 2. Announced hardware choice, not deployment evidence: no units, no customer, no runtime figures beyond the standing Nyobolt claims.

Watch: whether shipping Digit 5 units match the IGX Thor announcement; whether the S-4's projected ~800 units in 2027 are built on this stack; and whether NVIDIA's "Reference Humanoid" framework and this standardization consolidate into one shared platform baseline.
