Blue Origin breaks ground on the second New Glenn pad at Cape Canaveral

Continuing thread: space — Blue Origin: New Glenn cadence and the ground-infrastructure constraint

What happened: MSN coverage reports Blue Origin poured large amounts of concrete for a new Launch Complex 36B at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station — a second pad being built for a larger New Glenn. Same-day coverage also notes the rebuilt launch tower at the site, five months after the New Glenn vehicle was destroyed in a static-fire test there in May; the tower's full reassembly was already confirmed on October 24 by CEO Dave Limp.

What's genuinely new: LC-36B is now named and in active construction — concrete is going down. Blue Origin's Florida plans disclosed October 16 included two New Glenn pads alongside a $330 million "Rocket Park" build-out, but the second pad existed only as a plan; this is its first physical step, distinct from the LC-36A rebuild whose activation is targeted for early-to-mid December with a return to flight still possible before year's end.

Watch: LC-36A activation in December, the provisional December 28, 2026 return-to-flight marker, and whether LC-36B's build-out tracks the larger New Glenn variant.
