What happened: Loading of fuel assemblies into the core of unit 2 at the San'ao nuclear power plant in China's Zhejiang province is complete, ahead of the unit's startup. It is the second of six HPR1000 (Hualong One) reactors planned at the site.

What's genuinely new: A fleet-buildout milestone for China's domestic Hualong One line — the site's second unit moving from construction into the fuel-loading and commissioning phase.

Watch: First criticality and grid connection for unit 2, and construction progress on the site's remaining four units.
