What happened: X-energy, Swedish specialty steelmaker Alleima and South Korea's Doosan Enerbility executed a first order for nuclear-industrial steam generator components. Alleima, which calls it its first tube order for next-generation helium-cooled small modular reactors, received the order through Doosan Enerbility; the companies frame the partnership as securing safety-significant, long-lead components for X-energy's high-temperature reactor line.
What's genuinely new: A first purchase order — not an intent-stage memorandum — placing long-lead manufacturing with two named suppliers before any plant is built. Doosan Enerbility is the same Korean heavy manufacturer that signed on in late October to make reactor-module hardware for NuScale, so its SMR supplier role now spans two US developers.
Watch: Which plant deployments the components are destined for, order volumes and delivery schedule, and whether further long-lead orders follow for the Xe-100 line.
