Robot sports: the humanoid athletics record
Where it stands: The humanoid athletics record as it advances — sprint times, jumps and synchronized routines at the Games — kept apart from industrial deployment.
Latest
- 2026-10-26 (~8:46 AM ET, Moneycontrol): the October 25 Guinness synchronized-dancing record gets its named maker and location — 110 AgiBot humanoids in Shandong (moneycontrol.com/science). Development of the October 25 record, whose watch had asked for exactly this — the maker behind the 110 units. Now the maker is named one day after its IPO suspension (October 26, 36kr): spectacle milestone plus listing pause in the same 24 hours. Watch: factory or facility deployment of the same AgiBot hardware, and whether the company files deployment data while its listing is paused.
- 2026-09-20 (capability claim, flagged): MSN-FR syndication of the World Humanoid Robot Games: a humanoid long-jumped 7.97 m (~26.1 ft) — "a year ago, it was only 1.25 m (~4.1 ft)." Single syndication, robot unnamed in the reporting, jump style unspecified — filed, not crowned; joins TianGong Ultra's 8.64 s/100 m (Aug) as the Games' capability-curve series.
- 2026-09-13 the sprint record crosses into mainstream sports media — Reuters (Sep 13) runs Usain Bolt's reaction to TianGong Ultra's 8.64 s ("eclipsed his world record by almost a second"; Bolt "rather amused, eyes the Manchester derby"). No new performance facts; the frame note stands — the sprint is the hook, the workshop crews are the story.
