Tesla will stop building the Cybertruck at Gigafactory Texas around mid-2027 and convert the space to Cybercab robotaxis — Musk said on X that production winds down mid-2027, with no answer on whether the truck moves to another plant. The sales record behind the cut: about
71,000 Cybertrucks delivered since late 2023 against Musk's pre-launch projection of
250,000 a year (about 63,000 in coverage of the same remarks), the cheapest version at
$59,900 against a promised sub-$40,000 start, and the promised
500-mile range never achieved. It is the third Tesla model cut in 2026 after the Model S and Model X, whose Fremont space went to Optimus; the consumer lineup narrows to Model 3, Model Y and the Cybercab. The truck never passed European safety standards, and export limits kept it to North America. Watch: whether production ends entirely or relocates, actual Cybercab output from the freed Texas capacity, and parts and service support for owners.
