Waymo: nearly 250 square miles of driverless coverage added in five cities
Where it stands: Waymo is expanding its driverless service area by nearly 250 square miles over the next week across Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area, all cities where it already runs without a driver in the seat. The addition is roughly as large as Tesla's entire Houston robotaxi geofence after this week's expansion. Watch whether the new area turns into weekly mileage and when Nashville and Orlando riders can use it.
